South Korean base oil producer SK Lubricants has rebranded with a name change to SK Enmove.

The company under parent firm SK Innovation has changed its name to reflect its business plan to focus on pursuing energy efficiency and environment-friendly sustainable ambitions, according to a company source. SK Innovation has previously pledged to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 across all its businesses.

With its rebranding effective from 1 December, SK Enmove together with its subsidiary Yubase aims to boost its sales and branding for its finished lubricants and thermal management for electric vehicles.

SK Enmove operates a domestic 48,600 b/d Group III base oil plant in Ulsan. It has 19,300 b/d Group II and Group III base oil production through Ilboc, a joint venture with Spanish producer Repsol at Cartagena, Spain. The company also operates a 12,500 b/d Group III base oil facility under PatraSK, a joint venture with Indonesian state-owned oil firm Pertamina at Dumai, Indonesia.
