Celebrating excellence across Africa’s fertilizer value chain

The Argus Fertilizer Africa Awards shine a spotlight on the individuals, organisations and initiatives driving innovation, sustainability, resilience and inclusivity across the continent’s fertilizer sector. Judged by some of Africa’s most influential industry leaders, these awards recognise the trailblazers shaping the future of agriculture and food security.

From strengthening supply chains and advancing sustainable practices to championing leadership and inclusion, the awards highlight those delivering measurable impact across Africa’s fertilizer industry.

Nominations are open and winners will be announced during a special ceremony at the Argus Fertilizer Africa Conference, offering a moment to celebrate success, inspire peers, and elevate the profile of Africa’s fertilizer champions on a global stage.

Categories in 2027

Honouring organisations driving resilience and reliability across Africa’s fertilizer supply chains 

  • To honour companies or individuals that have demonstrated exceptional resilience, innovation and adaptability in overcoming significant supply chain challenges in Africa’s fertilizer industry.
  • This award recognises initiatives that have strengthened fertilizer availability and market responsiveness in the face of global disruption, volatility and trade constraints. It celebrates those improving supply chain efficiency, enhancing access and ensuring continuity of supply across African markets.
  • Judges will look at how entries have demonstrated tangible outcomes in maintaining and strengthening fertilizer supply chains under pressure, with particular focus on improving reliability, predictability and long-term resilience, as well as delivering measurable impact for markets and end users. 

Honouring champions of environmental stewardship and responsible agriculture  

  • To honour individuals or organizations leading the way in environmental stewardship and sustainable agricultural and/or fertilizer application practices in Africa.
  • This award recognises outstanding efforts to promote sustainable agricultural practices and reduce the environmental footprint of fertilizer production, distribution, or use. It celebrates those leading the way in aligning business success with long-term ecological and community wellbeing.
  • Judges will look at how entries have demonstrated their initiatives and work have had a positive impact on the fertilizer market in Africa, specifically looking for those who showcase originality and innovation, and a positive impact in the industry.

Recognising women driving change in Africa’s fertilizer industry  

  • Become the leading voice for inclusivity and leadership. Gain recognition as a leading woman helping improve the African fertilizer sector.
  • This award celebrates a woman who has made a significant impact in the fertilizer sector through leadership, innovation, or advocacy. It aims to spotlight role models who are advancing the industry while championing inclusion and empowerment.
  • Judges will look at how entries have demonstrated their initiatives and work have had a positive impact on the fertilizer market in Africa, specifically looking for those who showcase originality and innovation, and a positive impact in the industry.

How to submit a nomination

Nominations for the awards should be submitted by Friday 27 November 2026, after which they will be judged by our expert panel based on the criteria described below. Finalists will be informed and should be registered for the event to attend the ceremony.

Judges will be announced shortly. Argus will remain impartial and independent of any decisions. The judging process will also be impartial with no payment by any organisation or outside individual.

You do not have to submit supporting material for your nomination, but if you do, you should include the following information in the email:

  • The award category you are entering.
  • The name, job title and company name of the nominated individual.
  • Relevant contact details (email address or phone number).
