French aluminum products manufacturer Constellium has raised prices for all flat rolled products shipped in the US.
The company increased all prices by a minimum of 15¢/lb, effective immediately.
Constellium did not provide a clear reason for the increase and did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
This rise in pricing comes at a time when the Midwest premium, the duty-paid delivered cost of importing P1020 aluminum into a designated warehouse in the Midwestern region of the US, is approaching its highest point since June 2022. The market has climbed in anticipation of potentially dual 25pc import tariffs on Canadian-based metal, on which the US heavily relies. Both the overarching Canadian and country-wide aluminum tariffs are scheduled to be implemented in early March.
