Zeebrugge schedules first LNG reload to India

Belgium's 7.2mn t/yr Zeebrugge LNG import terminal is expected to reload its first cargo for delivery to India next week.

The 155,900m³ Wilforce is scheduled to arrive at the terminal on 29 November and leave on 1 December with a cargo for delivery to India's 10mn t/yr Dahej LNG import terminal, where it is expected to arrive on 21 December.

Indian buyers have been buying more spot cargoes and reducing long-term offtake as a result of falling LNG prices. LNG imports in April-October totalled 9.2mn t, up by 35pc from a year earlier, the oil ministry said.

The reload is scheduled to begin two days after Zeebrugge takes delivery of a Qatari cargo from the 145,800m³ Al Jassasiya. And the 160,000m³ Corcovado LNG is expected to deliver a Qatari cargo on 9 December, the first delivery scheduled for next month.

Stocks at the terminal were 985GWh — 38.8pc full — at the start of today's gas day. Sendout of 25.4 GWh/d since the start of this month could be maintained until the arrival of the Corcovado LNG.

The pace of sendout so far in November is below the 34.7 GWh/d recorded at this point a year earlier.

Quicker than average early October deliveries were followed by a slowdown in the second half of October and November.

Maintenance at Qatar's 77mn t/yr Ras Laffan complex in October may have limited the availability of cargoes, although the full extent of any shutdown is unknown.

Zeebrugge has reloaded five cargoes since the start of October, compared with two a year earlier, including a re-export to another first-time destination of Puerto Rico.
