Bahrain's state-owned refiner Bapco will increase its listed bitumen prices by $20/t from 8 March, as crude futures and high-sulphur fuel oil prices continue to rally with the continuing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The current hike to $445/t fob Sitra was Bapco's second consecutive price hike. The previous increase of $25/t in January was from $400/t at the end of 2021.
The spike rise in crude futures and fuel oil prices have also pushed fob Singapore bitumen prices to a seven-year high, while trading in Iran was sporadic and limited last week.
Iranian bulk bitumen prices were assessed by Argus at $435/t fob Iran for the week ended 4 March, a more than seven-year high, while drum prices were assessed at $487.50/t fob Iran. Argus assessed the ABX 1 fob Singapore bitumen price for the same week at $510/t fob Singapore, up by $42.50/t from the previous week.
