Kuwait Aromatics plans to shut its aromatics unit in Shuaiba over 4-11 March for maintenance.
The unit was operating at a production rate of 80-85pc in January to early February, but has since ramped up their production to 93-95pc to avoid disruptions to deliveries during the closure.
This unit last shut down in September 2021 because of a hydrocarbon leakage at its paraxylene (PX) unit.
The aromatics complex produces 370,000 t/yr of benzene and 830,000 t/yr of PX.
Kuwait Aromatics is a joint venture between Petrochemical Industries, Kuwait National Petroleum and Qurain Petrochemical Industries.
