Corn, soymeal lift Argentina export registrations

Argentina's exporters registered 2.52mn metric tonnes (t) of key agricultural products for export during the week ending 26 June, a 25pc gain from the prior week following increased corn and soybean meal bookings, according to Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (SAGyP).

Corn export registration reached 1.5mn t, up by 25pc from the prior week and the most registered for export since the middle of May. Nearly all volumes were booked for export in July, with only 5,000t for August.

With this week's registrations, exporters have booked 4.55mn t for loading by the end of July, which is down considerably from the 5.35mn t booked for July 2025. Export bookings for July are not likely to increase significantly in the coming weeks, as the end of June typically brings the start of export registrations for August. If that is the case, July will be the first month since February corn exports do not reach record levels for Argentina.

Soybean meal export registrations nearly doubled in the previous week from the previous seven-day period to reach 604,000t. Bookings were spread across the next three months, with 204,000t for July, 300,000t for August and 100,000t for September.

As of 26 June, 3mn t of soymeal had been registered for July loading, about 130,000t less than the amount registered for July last year. The week ahead could see this year's volumes pull even with last year's, but it is unlikely July will see significantly more soymeal exported from Argentina than last year.

Soybean oil export registrations were also above the previous week — up by 16pc to 121,000t — most of which was registered for July loading. Soybeans registrations fell to four-week low of 59,400t, in contrast to meal and oil. Argentina's soybean export outlook has continued to fall this year with only 522,000t registered for loading by the end of July as of 26 June, down by nearly a third from July of last year.

Wheat and barley registrations were also down from the previous week, as exports remain seasonally subdued. Wheat export registrations reached 70,500t, down by 67pc from the week prior. Barley registrations reached 10,800t, down by 37pc from the previous week.

Sunflower seeds and products were mixed, with whole seed and meal registrations falling from the prior week to 9,920t and 27,800t, respectively. Sunflower oil export registrations increased fourfold from the prior week to reach 83,100t.
