Valero reduced rates to the No. 1 reformer at its refinery in Three Rivers, Texas this week after it discovered a small benzene leak, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
Valero estimated 8.48 lbs of benzene was released during the event Monday afternoon.
The company is cutting rates and isolating the No. 1 reformer exchanger, according to the filing.
