Bermuda-based shipowner Gaslog LNG has taken delivery of the 180,000m³ Gaslog Westminster from South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI).
The LNG carrier will go straight into a seven-year charter with the UK's Centrica, Gaslog said.
Gaslog has two more LNG carriers scheduled for delivery this year — the Gaslog Galveston and Hull 2300 — followed by a further two in 2021, all with a 174,000m³ capacity. The owner has already taken receipt of two newbuilds this year — the 180,000m³ Gaslog Windsor and Gaslog Wales. All seven vessel orders were placed with SHI.
The delivery is the second this month, after the 173,400m³ BW Pavilion Aranthera was received by Norway's BW LNG on 3 July.
A further 12 carriers could be delivered globally this quarter, pending successful completion of sea trials. All but two were ordered from South Korean yards.
