  • 10/03/22

Vehicle manufacturer Scania is showcasing two new natural gas-fueled truck models and announced a gas bus trial run in Brazil.

The Sweden-based company launched the two new truck models in Brazil during a Datagro consulting firm event, celebrating the start of the country's sugarcane, sugar and ethanol harvests for 2022-23. Scania has already sold more than 600 gas-fueled trucks and has just announced its first sale of LNG-fueled trucks to Brazil.

Brazilian transportation company Morada Logistica bought five LNG trucks from Scania, which started operating in São Paulo state in February.

Scania's new gas-fired buses will operate in Ribeirão Preto until mid-April and can be fueled by biomethane or natural gas.

Other players are also seeking space in the Brazilian gas vehicle market, such as Italian manufacturer Iveco, which announced it would begin to produce natural gas and LNG trucks in Brazil in February.
