ExxonMobil has delivered its first cargo of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to Changi airport in Singapore, as part of a one-year pilot scheme launched earlier this year.
The cargo was a mix of SAF from Neste and jet fuel refined at ExxonMobil's Singapore plant. The cargo will be used to feed Singapore Airlines, as part of the pilot scheme launched in partnership with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and global investment company Temasek.
The SAF delivery is part of ExxonMobil's aim to provide more than 40,000 b/d of lower emission fuels by 2025, and 200,000 b/d by 2030.
Neste will begin producing 1mn t/yr of SAF at its Singapore refinery during January-March 2023.
