Brazil's power load increased by 3.8pc in the first half of 2023, according to grid operator ONS.
The country reached an average of 71,077MW in June, which is also 2pc higher than the power load for June 2022. The figure takes distributed generation data into account.
The results were influenced by mild temperatures in the southeastern/mid-center regions and less rainfall in the north and northeast — which drove the power load down — while economic factors moved in the opposite direction and drove results up.
