Dimitrios Savvidis
Project Adviser, European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA - European Commission)

Dimitris is responsible for a portfolio of Innovation Fund projects in road transport and hydrogen at CINEA. He previously worked at the European Commission's DG CLIMA from 2013-2024, where he was responsible for developing VECTO for heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) CO2 emissions certification. Before that, he was an assistant professor at the University of Antwerp from 2012-2013 and a Seconded National Expert at the European Commission's DG ENTR from 2010-2012, where he dealt with the non-road mobile machinery (NRMM) directive 97/68/EC on engine emissions. He became a civil servant in Greece in 2007 and worked as a Homologation Engineer at Iveco UK from 2001-2003. Dimitris holds a PhD in Road Transport Emissions in the Real World, a master's (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering, a second MSc in Transport Engine Emissions and a BSc in Automotive Engineering.

Ulrich Lange
Parliamentary State Secretary, Federal Minister of Transport Germany

Ulrich Lange MdB is Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Transport and a long-serving member of the German Bundestag. With a legal background and extensive leadership roles within the CSU, he has been instrumental in shaping transport and infrastructure policy in Germany. He is married with two children and actively engaged in regional and national politics.

With a strong background in environmental policy and a keen focus on social and ecological sustainability criteria, Aleksandra has been at the forefront of further developing sustainability requirements for the production and use of agricultural and forest biomass under ISCC certification.

Frédéric Aertsens
Sector Group Manager for Sustainable Fuels, Cefic

Frédéric Aertsens is Sector Group Manager for Sustainable Fuels. Cefic represents Europe’s major fuel ether producers — MTBE, ETBE, TAME and TAEE. Cefic members support and disseminate scientific research on the benefits and impact of fuel ethers on vehicle performance, health and the environment, and advocate for science-based policy making, through active cooperation with regulators, legislators, industry, NGOs and the academic community. Frédéric is based in Brussels and has a background in EU environmental and energy law. He started his career at the European Commission before joining government affairs consultancy Dentons Global Advisors, where he oversaw the mobility practice, advising clients on EU and global emissions and vehicle safety policies.

Xavier Noyon
Secretary General, European Biodiesel Board (EBB)

Brussels-based EBB is the association for companies producing biodiesel (HVO and FAME) in the EU and represents producers using all feedstocks — food/feed crops, waste, residues and other biogenic materials. Xavier has experience from previous roles at PEFC International, the European Solar Thermal Industry Federation, Logos Public Affairs and Orgalime. He holds a master’s degree in European public policy from Institut d’études politiques de Strasbourg.

Alex Woodrow
Managing Director, KGP Commercial Powertrain Intelligence

Alex Woodrow joined KGP in 1994, shortly after completing his BEng and BCom in Manufacturing Engineering and Economics at the University of Birmingham. He later earned an MSc in Automotive Systems Engineering from Loughborough University in 2008. He became Managing Director in January 2010.

He has led KGP to deliver hundreds of projects focused on powertrain technologies, legislative developments and industry trends across the automotive and adjacent sectors. Alex launched the Global Commercial Vehicle Powertrain Forecast in partnership with GlobalData (formerly LMC Automotive) in 2005, and the Global Non-Road Powertrain Forecast in collaboration with Off-Highway Research in 2009.

The company offers these two core services—covering engines, emissions, electrification and drivelines globally—both off-the-shelf and as part of custom client projects. These services help global OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, fuel companies, governments, investors and other stakeholders to develop strategic, marketing and product plans for future decarbonized and sustainable powertrains as part of the energy transition. Alex also serves on committees for alternative fuels, emissions and electrification within European and US trade associations.

Stefano Murace is the Policy Advisor for Transport and Heating at Eurogas. Prior to joining Eurogas, he worked on various energy-related topics at the EU Public Affairs office of Air Liquide and in the secretariat of a Member of the European Parliament. Originally from Rome, Italy, Stefano holds a degree in Political Science and International Relations from LUISS Guido Carli University.

Hendrik Schuldt

Hendrik Schuldt is managing director at the Berlin-based carbon markets advisory firm carboneer. He assists clients worldwide with sourcing CBAM data, automating data collection from supply chains, integrating data into CBAM reports and forecasting and managing CBAM-related costs. Maximilian Kurth has worked for six years at bmp greengas in Munich as a specialist for industrial and fuel customers. Bmp greengas has become one of Europe's leading biomethane marketers since its foundation in 2007. Studying European energy economics in Kufstein laid the foundation for his professional career. He has focused on renewable energies from the start because of the transition in the energy sector. He continues to face constant change in his current role. He believes the challenge is to respond to new legal requirements with foresight and efficient solutions, without losing sight of the main goal: to act together for a green future.

Holger Pastel

Holger Pastel started his career in banking, working for international banks in Düsseldorf and London. He co-founded an asset management company, served as its CEO, and sold it successfully in 2011. He then moved into the renewable energy sector to participate in Germany's energy transition. He is the managing director and co-founder of Tomorrow Energy Solutions and leads strategic investment in Germany’s renewable energy infrastructure, with a focus on energy contracting. He is also a managing director of the joint venture NOVATERA GmbH, formed by Nippon Gases Deutschland Holding GmbH and Tomorrow Energy Solutions GmbH's subsidiary TES Bio-LNG GmbH. NOVATERA GmbH focuses on the decentralized production of liquid biomethane and biogenic liquid CO₂ from upgraded farm-acquired biogas. Holger Pastel provides a repeatable infrastructure model through NOVATERA that is built from existing assets: operational biogas plants, proven micro-liquefaction technology and logistics capabilities. This model creates a path to convert regional biogas into transport-ready liquid fuels.

John Cosmo Dwelle
Managing Director, Anew Climate Europe GmbH

John Cosmo Dwelle is the Managing Director of Anew Climate’s biomethane business in Germany and across Europe. He has more than a decade of international experience in the energy sector and leads the company’s strategic growth in biomethane and carbon removal solutions, contributing to the decarbonization of Europe’s energy system. Cosmo is a trained business lawyer and brings extensive management expertise and deep knowledge of renewable energy to his role. He gained a strong foundation in the regulatory, legal, and strategic aspects of the energy industry from his global career, including a position in the wind power unit at Siemens France SAS. Most recently, he oversaw operations and business development in the bioenergy sector, advancing biomethane trading and pioneering efforts in bio-LNG and carbon removal. Cosmo expands biomethane and decarbonization markets throughout Europe for Anew Climate. He is scaling Anew’s portfolio and accelerating carbon removal initiatives that support long-term climate goals. Cosmo helps shape Europe’s energy transition with his interdisciplinary approach and strategic insight.

Daniel Kaddik
General Manager, Bundesverband freier Tankstellen (BFT)

The BFT association represents a network of 530 companies in the field of fuel for cars and homes. Daniel is also part of the directors' group of the association of SME Energy Germany — Mittelstandische Energiewirtschaft Deutschland. Over the past 15 years he has he worked with national and local governments, politicians and non-governmental organisations in Germany, India, Russia, central Asia, southeast Europe and the EU. Daniel has degrees in Governmental Studies from the University of Erfurt, European Studies from the University of Hamburg and International Studies from the University of Birmingham.

Bram Wesstein
Account Manager / Business Development Manager AdBlue® & Melamine, OCI Nitrogen B.V.

Bram (1965) has worked in the chemical industry since 1987 and has long been considered an experienced and seasoned professional. First, he spent 19 years at DSM, primarily in specialist roles. After that, he held various commercial roles within the TIC (Testing, Inspection, Certification) sector at Intertek plc. for 11 years. Currently, since 2018, he has been working at OCI, also in commercial roles. Initially, he was responsible for the Industrial Products business (anhydrous and aqueous ammonia, amongst other products). Since 2023, Bram has been completely focused on OCI's AdBlue® business. His main focus is on the Benelux, Germany, and France, building and strengthen relationships.

Mehdi Ferhan

Mehdi Ferhan has been Senior Vice President Powertrain Engineering at Volvo Group Trucks Technology since June 2024, overseeing research and development of powertrain technologies. He started his career at PSA Peugeot-Citroen and later worked in several roles for automotive supplier OP-Mobility. Before joining Volvo Group, Mehdi was Chief Operating Officer of a joint venture between Renault and Plug. He holds a Master’s degree in Science in Transportation from Institut Polytechnique – ENSTA ParisTech — and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from HEC Paris, France. Mehdi is married with two daughters and lives in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Caroline is the Business Manager AdBlue® & Melamine for OCI Nitrogen in Europe. She has nearly 18 years of experience in the Automotive sector in various functions ranging from Sales & Export to Business Development management. Currently she is leading the Business of the AdBlue® development within OCI Europe focusing on developing markets and sustainable/decarbonized DEF/AdBlue® related products.

Joerg Fischer
Chief Financial Officer, EnviTec Biogas AG

Joerg Fischer has been CFO of EnviTec Biogas AG since June 2007. He is responsible for Financing, Accounting, IT and Business Development. Joerg is President of the German Biogasrat and promoted the industry as Co-Chair of the BIP Task Force. He has been on the EBA Company Advisory Board since May 2025. Before joining the biogas plant manufacturer, Fischer worked for Bremer Landesbank. He was most recently head of project financing and oversaw the strategic expansion of the business unit with a focus on renewable energies. Born in Bremen, he began his career in 1991 at Landeszentralbank Bremen. After positions at Landeszentralbank Cuxhaven, he graduated in business administration and economics and moved on to Bremer Landesbank in 1999. Joerg Fischer studied business administration at Fachhochschule der Deutschen Bundesbank in Hachenburg and economics at the University of Bremen, as well as at New School University and Columbia University in New York.

Detlef Evers has been working for the MVaK since 2015; a Berlin-based association representing the interests of key companies operating along the value chain for the production of waste-based and advanced biofuels. The members of the MVaK are based in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. He has been working in the field of biofuels since 1995. Before he joined the MVaK he worked for Archer Daniels Midland in different management positions. His first task in the biofuels segment was to market biodiesel produced by the first large-scale German biodiesel plant in Leer.

Henning Dicks is an agricultural engineer, co-founder and managing director of agriportance GmbH, a Münster-based company specializing in sustainable energy solutions, particularly in the field of biomethane. Henning Dicks grew up on a farm and studied agricultural economics at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences in Soest. In his early career, he worked directly in agriculture and in agricultural journalism, gaining valuable experience before entering the biomethane industry. In 2021, Henning Dicks and Thorsten Nascimento Rohling founded agriportance GmbH, a company that offers a digital solution for biomethane producers to enable the certification and marketing of biomethane and liquid CO2. Henning's goal is to advance the energy transition by replacing fossil natural gas with biomethane, a cleaner, renewable and European alternative. Henning Dicks is considered an acknowledged expert in the biomethane industry, particularly in the certification and trading of biomethane and LCO2.

Daiana uses her technical expertise, deep understanding of European carbon policy, and proven track record in emissions trading and market analysis to help organizations manage risk, achieve compliance, and accelerate their energy transition goals.

Nicholas Yang

Nicholas Yang is the Founder and Chairman of NOVAX Material & Technology Inc., the market leader for AdBlue® in Taiwan and winner of the 2025 National Brand Yushan Award. Nicholas Yang founded NOVAX in 2006 with fewer than ten employees, growing it into Taiwan's largest AdBlue® producer through his vision of creating green, healthy, and sustainable technologies. He believes a successful company must enhance both environmental impact and employee well-being, he said. NOVAX evolved under his leadership from supplying raw materials to building IoT-enabled systems such as i-DEPOT, and formed a unique ecosystem that benefits customers, dealers, and partners. Tobias Block
Head of Strategy and Content, eFuel Alliance

Tobias is an industrial engineer and Chief Strategy Officer at industry group the eFuel Alliance. He is an all-rounder when it comes to technical, economic and political challenges at the interface between renewable energies and the automotive industry. He studied energy and environmental management at the University of Flensburg, before obtaining a doctorate on eFuels business models at the University of St Gallen. He then worked for German automaker Audi, after which he joined the German Association of the Automotive Industry, where he co-ordinated the group’s renewable fuel activities.

Robin Futcher
Senior Hydrogen Technologies and Renewable Solutions Adviser, New Era Energy

Robin has over 27 years of experience designing and engineering fuel distribution systems. He is a member of several technical committees for gaseous and liquid fuel systems, including standards bodies BSI and ISO, and has consulted on regulatory and safety topics across petroleum, fuel oil, hydrogen, ammonia and AdBlue. He is responsible for the Energy Institute’s guidance on the correct and safe handling of NOx reduction agent, and is an advocate for minimising the environmental impact of refuelling. Robin is dedicated to advancing hydrogen technology within the commercial sector and ensuring its safe integration. He serves as the technical author for BSI Flex 2073 — a guide for hydrogen fuelling under the Department of Transport-funded Zero-Emission HGV and Infrastructure Demonstrator initiative — further demonstrating his role in shaping industry standards and safety for renewable and low-carbon fuels.

Hagen Reiners heads the Argus editorial team in Hamburg. He manages the O.M.R. Fuels and O.M.R. Intraday services. Since 2015 he has been working with the German oil products industry. He oversees the Argus coverage of the German markets for heating oil, diesel, gasoline, GHG quota, biomethane, AdBlue and Rhine freight. Before working at Argus, he worked as a journalist for various media such as Handelsblatt and Deutschlandfunk.
