US output of distiller's corn oil (DCO) increased by 2.2pc in June compared to May, which had one less weekday.
Output of DCO was 171,538 short tons (st) in June, compared with 167,905 st in May, according to the US Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Grain Crushings report.
DCO production was up by 25.6pc compared with June 2020, when Covid-19 related lockdowns caused a drop in gasoline demand.
DCO is a byproduct of ethanol production and is directly related to volumes of ethanol produced.
DCO prices in the US Gulf coast delivered market have steadily climbed to 68¢/lb, adding 9¢/lb since the start of June.
Crude corn oil, soybean oil and canola oil production also provide insight into feedstock supplies for renewable biofuels, volumes of which were released in the USDA Fats and Oils: Crushings, Production, Consumption and Stocks monthly report.
Crude soybean oil produced in June was 1.9bn lbs, down by 6.6pc from May and down by 6.2pc from a year earlier.
June production of crude corn oil was 157.5mn lbs, down by 5.7pc from the prior month. Compared to June 2020, the output was down by 0.5pc.
Total crude canola oil production in June was around 133mn lbs, down by 1.2pc from the prior month. Production in June increased by 25.7pc from a year earlier.
