India's state-controlled refiners have increased jet fuel prices for the first half of January from two weeks prior as Singapore's market assessments rose, even though domestic air traffic continued to increase.
Prices of jet fuel for domestic airlines in Delhi have been set at 76,062 rupees/kilolitre for the first half of this month, up from the second half of December's Rs74,022/kl, according to state-owned refiner IOC.
Prices for domestic airlines on international routes were also increased to $756/kl for the current fortnight, from $739/kl for the previous two weeks.
Jet fuel prices were at $86.90/bl fob Singapore on 31 December, having touched a one-month high of $87.60/bl in the previous week.
Meanwhile, daily domestic airport footfall, which includes both departing and arriving passengers, averaged about 717,000 in December, [according to Argus estimates](https://direct.argusmedia.com/newsandanalysis/article/2288229) based on daily traffic data published by the country's civil aviation ministry. This was up from November 2021's daily average of 698,000.
Daily aircraft movement, which includes both departing and arriving flights, averaged about 5,600 last month, compared to a daily average of about 5,400 in November 2021.
