Delta Air Lines' 190,000 b/d Trainer, Pennsylvania, refinery will resume operations in mid-November following a planned turnaround that began last month.

The turnaround has progressed as planned and Delta expects the refinery to return to normal operations midway through November, the company said on the airlines' third quarter earnings call this morning.

The planned turnaround may include work on storage tanks, a rail terminal and associated piping as part of the refinery's D2 Renewables Project to process soybean oil, according to filings with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

Local officials told Argus that plans were being made for installation of a large crane at the site during the fall turnaround to take down or repair an existing unit.

Two Atlantic coast turnarounds this fall have taken up to 500,000 b/d of refinery capacity offline, but the US markets they serve are expected to remain stable barring unplanned outages.
