LyondellBasell's Equistar plant at La Porte, Texas, reported emissions yesterday after a valve malfunctioned as a furnace was transitioning to decoke, according to a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality emissions report.
Effluent from the furnace entered the decoke header and exited the decoke pot, according to the filing. The event resulted in the release of ethane, ethylene, and other materials.
