TPC Group reported an upset at its 545,000 t/yr butadiene plant in Houston on 11 April, according to a filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
A hole developed in a transfer line from a process tower to a storage tank, resulting in emissions of butadiene, propane, propylene, and isobutane, among other chemicals. Operators isolated and cleared the line prior to its replacement, according to the filing.
