The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said it will publish data as normally scheduled today as the federal government enters its first day of a shutdown.
In a notice today the EIA said it "... will be able to operate for a period of time during the lapse in appropriations. Until further notice, the EIA.gov website will continue to be updated, and publications will continue to be released according to established schedules."
The EIA said it will also continue to collect energy data for surveys as expected.
It is unclear what other data from government agencies will be released or delayed as the shutdown continues. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics, which publishes key data on employment, prices and inflation, plans to "completely cease operations" if funding lapses, according to a shutdown plan dated 26 September. That mean that US jobs data expected on 3 October will not be released.
The US Department of Agriculture said today that it will not update information on its website during the shutdown.
