Ammonia Energy Association

The Ammonia Energy Association (AEA) is a global non-profit industry association that promotes the responsible use of ammonia in a sustainable energy economy. The AEA’s mission encompasses both the decarbonization of ammonia for existing applications, including fertilizers, chemicals, explosives, and other industrial processes, as well as the adoption of low-carbon ammonia in new applications, including direct use as a fuel for electric power generation or maritime transport, and indirect use as a hydrogen carrier and carbon-free energy commodity. Established in 2004, the AEA membership includes 140 corporations around the world; in 2020 it launched its first regional arm, AEA Australia. Among other initiatives, the AEA is seeking to facilitate the establishment of a globally harmonised Certification Scheme for Low-Carbon Ammonia.

The Spanish Renewable Ammonia Association (AEAR – Asociación Española del Amoníaco Renovable), established in 2022, is a multi-sector, non-profit organization committed to promoting the production, commercialization, and responsible use of renewable ammonia. Our mission is to support the development of a sustainable energy economy and play an active role in the global energy transition.

AEAR’s activities encompass the entire renewable ammonia value chain, engaging both public and private sectors. This includes production, use, distribution, commercialization, research and development, innovation, construction, operation, maintenance, and asset management.

Our scope extends across both traditional applications—such as fertilizers, chemicals, explosives, and industrial processes—and emerging uses, including the direct application of ammonia as a fuel for power generation and maritime transportation, as well as its role as a zero-carbon hydrogen carrier.

Ukrainian Hydrogen Council

Energy Association “Ukrainian Hydrogen Council” is the first national hydrogen energy association in Ukraine engaged in the development of green hydrogen energy as an integral part of production and supply of alternative energy sources, as well as the dissemination of hydrogen technologies in various sectors of industry and business with the purpose of improving their energy efficiency.

The Association was founded in 2018 with the purpose of uniting efforts of representatives of energy business, investment institutions, scientists and representatives of the public and authorities in implementing energy independence of the country.

The first association from the non-EU country to obtain associate membership in Hydrogen Europe.

We are dedicated to aligning our efforts with the United Nations 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals. By integrating these goals into our framework, we strive to contribute meaningfully to a more prosperous and equitable future for Ukraine and the global community.
