The spot weighted average reflects a transaction price for spot methanol for each month. This is compiled using the applicable individual transaction prices and volumes collected during the appropriate calendar month.

What are the advantages of this price assessment? 

This assessment reflects valid spot market value, as traded in the open spot market, for the US Gulf coast region. Volumes can be traded at the ITC terminal on the Houston Ship Channel, the Beaumont, Texas area, or at the IMTT terminal in St. James Louisiana on the Lower Mississippi River. 

Who uses this price assessment? 

Buyers, sellers, producers, consumers, traders and distributors will use this number in the established, traditional methanol market.
