How Argus assesses hydrogen and future fuels costs
- Modelled facility-level costs
Costs are modelled for newly constructed facilities across industry-standard production paths, with capital and operating costs adjusted per location by country risk and tax rates. - Weekly cost publication
Costs are calculated and published electronically each Tuesday, using the average of daily feedstock prices available since the previous calculation date. - Multi-currency reporting
Prices are published in US dollars per kilogram and in local currencies for Australia, Canada, China, Europe, India, Japan and South Korea. - Capex and no-capex comparison
For each location and technology, two cost sets are published — one including capex and one excluding it — enabling direct comparison of fixed and variable production costs. - Semi-annual assumption reviews
Fixed and variable cost assumptions, electricity prices and grid fees are reviewed and updated semi-annually, subject to market consultation.
