South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has won orders to build six new 174,000m³ LNG carriers, the firm said today.
Four vessels will be delivered to European firms and two to Asian firms, starting in mid-2022, HHI said. HHI did not disclose the names of the companies that ordered the vessels.
The contracts for the six carriers were valued at around $1.13bn in total, HHI said. The tankers will be constructed at the Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyards, the firm said.
