NuStar Energy expects to restart operations at its 4.59mn bl fuels terminal in Linden, New Jersey, later today after heavy rains associated with the remnants of Hurricane Ida hit the region last night.

The terminal was shut down at 6:50pm ET on 1 September, with power lost at the site about 90 minutes later, according to the company. Power was restored to the area this morning, with no mechanical damage found. Portable pumps kept an estimated 7-10 inches of rain from damaging equipment, the company said.

Further assessments of the facility were underway this morning, and operations were planned to resume later in the day. None of the company's other northeastern terminals were impacted by the storm.

The NuStar Linden terminal consists of 27 storage tanks containing distillates, gasolines, jet fuels, ethanol, and residual fuels. Fuel distributor and convenience store operator Sunoco agreed to purchase eight NuStar terminals, including Linden, along with a products terminal from Cato for a combined $255.5mn late last month. The acquisitions are expected to close during the fourth quarter.
