The attorney general in Brazil's Santa Catarina state has filed a request for an injunction to prevent Petrobras from increasing natural gas prices in the state.
The suit asks for an extension of a decision granted late last year that kept state-controlled Petrobras from raising gas tariffs in Santa Catarina until the end of this month. The attorney general's office is seeking to extend the suspension of higher tariffs through the end of the year, when Sao Francisco do Sul's new gas terminal is to start operating.
The original injunction kept Petrobras from increasing the tariffs by around 40pc.
