Australian jet fuel consumption rose in March to its highest monthly level since Covid-19 restrictions were first imposed in the country in March 2020.
The rise reflected further increases in fuel consumed by international flights departing Australia with travel restrictions lifted across the country. Domestic jet fuel use also rose to a 10-month high.
Total Australian jet fuel consumption rose by more than 36pc to 90,400 b/d in March from 66,000 b/d in March 2021 and 13.8pc above the 79,400 b/d consumed in February. It was the highest monthly level since the 114,000 b/d consumed in March 2020, Australian Petroleum Statistics (APS) data show.
