Brazil's mines and energy ministry MME will host seven power tenders per year in the next three years to supply the captive market.
Reserve power tenders, required by the Eletrobras privatization law, will happen every July. A-4 and A-6 tenders, which contract power to be supplied four and six years after the tender's year, respectively, will happen every August.
Tenders for isolated systems, not connected to the country's main grid, will happen every October.
Power capacity tenders, which buy thermal generation that is available during critical periods, will happen every November.
A-1 and A-2 tenders, which contract power to be supplied one and two years after the tender, will happen every December.
It is still uncertain whether this schedule will be followed by the new presidential administration. Some tenders might be cancelled because of the impending market opening and oversupply among some distribution companies.
