Erik da Costa Breyer will be Brazilian natural gas transport company TBG's new chief executive.
Breyer held domestic transmission firm Taesa's chief financial officer seat since 2020. He will take TBG's top role after Cynthia Silveira, who was a member of state-controlled Petrobras' board of directors and became TBG'S chief executive in December 2021.
The change in command comes as TBG goes through its privatization process and dismemberment from Petrobras. The company's sale is part of a 2019 deal between Petrobras and Brazil's antitrust watchdog Cade, which mandates that the state-owned company will sell all its gas distribution and transportation assets. The agreement was part of Brazil's gas market liberalization.
Petrobras has since sold gas distribution holding company Gaspetro, pipeline operator NTS and transporter TAG.
Petrobras owns 51pc of TBG. Belgian transmission system operator Fluxys owns 29pc, while Bolivian state-run oil and natural gas producer YPFB holds the remaining 20pc.
