LNG delivery and two reloads for Zeebrugge

  • Market: Natural gas
  • 18/08/14

The 155,900m³ Wilforce and the 160,000m³ Cubal LNG tankers are heading empty for Zeebrugge for expected reloads, while the 151,700m³ Al Marrouna will deliver a Qatari cargo on 1 September.

The Cubal should arrive on 25 August — it has been awaiting orders off Cadiz or near Gibraltar since delivering an Algerian cargo to Barcelona on 16 July. The Cubal has not called at Zeebrugge since December 2013, when it loaded a cargo for Pyeong Taek, South Korea.

The Wilforce is due to arrive on 3 September from Escobar, Argentina, having delivered a cargo from Belgium on 14 August. The last time the Wilforce docked at Zeebrugge was 20 July, when it loaded the cargo bound for Argentina.

Zeebrugge has received two LNG deliveries in August with a third, the 145,500 m³ Milaha Qatar, expected on 20 August. Zeebrugge has received a delivery on average every 11 days in 2014.

Delivery of a full cargo from the Milaha Qatar would take LNG stocks at the terminal to almost capacity. If last week's sendout rate of 23GWh/d continues and the Al Marrouna delivers a full cargo on 1 September there would be ample stocks available for both reloads.

The port received four LNG deliveries and reloaded one cargo in August last year.
