Sunoco Logistics is working to flush a propane pipeline today after a rupture in Jefferson County, Texas.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to the upset that occurred at 4:30pm local time. One property was evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Today Sunoco is working to flush the line and prep it for flaring, the sheriffs office said. The line will be cleared by late tonight or tomorrow morning.

Sunoco Logistics did not respond to a request for comment.

The pipeline rupture comes less than a week before the company's joint venture export terminal project with Lone Star, a subsidiary of Energy Transfer Partners, is due to begin operations. The planned 6mn bl/month export terminal is located in Nederland, Texas, not far from the pipeline upset. It is unclear whether the disruption was on the 200,000 b/d Mariner South propane and butane line, which will source the terminal.

The VLGC Captain Markos NL is moving to the US Gulf coast from Yokohama, Japan, to load the first propane cargo from the highly anticipated terminal, according to shipping sources. The vessel was planned to load 20-24 January.
