Midstream operator Blueknight Energy Partners is nearing completion of a condensate pipeline project in Oklahoma that will increase takeaway capacity from key production basins.
The line will be operational in the second quarter of 2017, vice president of pipeline marketing Brian Melton said at the Argus Condensate and Naphtha Markets Conference in Houston.
The project will convert a portion of the company's Oklahoma crude mainline system to dedicated condensate service from Maysville to Blueknight's Cushing, Oklahoma, oil terminal.
Shippers will have the ability to keep oil within the Cushing terminal for blending operations or to deliver to multiple terminals.
The converted line would have an initial capacity of 24,000 b/d and mostly serve the South Central Oklahoma Oil Province (Scoop) and the Sooner Trend Anadarko Canadian and Kingfisher (Stack) formations.
The system will initially move a single condensate grade crude but could be expanded to include a second grade of condensate, Melton said.
