Chinese ammonium sulphate (amsul) producer Haili Chemical has restarted its Jiangsu plant in east China after being off line for more than 18 months.
The firm was forced to shut down the 300,000 t/yr plant after a fatal explosion at a nearby chemical plant in March 2019.
Haili has met all the government standards for safety and environmental controls so it restarted this week and is now operating at around 50pc, the company said.
Haili's Jiangsu plant makes amsul as a by-product of caprolactam production.
