Brazilian soybean shipments totaled an all-time high of 101.9mn metric tonnes (t) last year, economy ministry data show.
The country's exports increased by 29pc from the 78.7mn t shipped throughout 2022, driven by a record 2022-23 soybean crop of 154.6mn t, according to national supply company Conab.
Corn shipments also reach record
Brazil exported an all-time high 55.9mn t of corn in 2023, driven by a record crop.
That compares with 43.2mn t shipped in 2022, according to economy ministry data.
December soybean shipments up, corn down
Brazil's soybean exports reached 3.8mn t last month, doubling from the 1.9mn t shipped in the same month a year before.
That is also approximately 1.4mn t below November shipments.
The country shipped 6.1mn t of corn in December, down from the 7.4mn t and 6.2mn t exported a month earlier and in December 2022, respectively.
