Nymex crude futures firmed in today's after-hours trade, remaining just above $77/bl on concerns about a slow recovery in demand.

At 08:30 GMT the front-month Nymex December WTI crude contract was at $77.35/bl, rising by 41¢/bl from its close yesterday when the contract ended $2.34¢/bl lower.

The front-month Ice December Brent crude contract rose by 61¢/bl to $76.63/bl.

Nymex December heating oil rose by 1.01¢/USG to $2.0011/USG, while Nymex December RBOB gasoline rose by 1.23¢/USG to $1.9528/USG.

Oil prices dropped yesterday as US EIA data showed an increase in crude and products stocks for the week to 6 November, and a dip in refinery utilisation rates.
