<article><p class="lead">Spain has introduced a range in its minimum target for hydrogen-powered vehicles on its roads by 2030 in its recovery, transformation and resilience plan.</p><p>Lodged with Brussels on 30 April, the plan points to a more aggressive rollout of hydrogen vehicle production and filling stations.</p><p>The country is now targeting at least 5,000-7,500 hydrogen-powered light and heavy vehicles on its roads in 2030 together with 150-200 buses powered by hydrogen fuel cells.</p><p>Spain's previous <a href="https://direct.argusmedia.com/newsandanalysis/article/2147995">hydrogen roadmap to 2030</a> released in October gave forecasts for at least 5,000 cars, vans and trucks and 150 buses powered by the fuel.</p><p>The country's roadmap also includes estimates of 300-600MW of electrolysis capacity dedicated to green hydrogen production in 2024 with a target to increase this to 4GW in 2030, together with a target for 25pc of industrial demand for hydrogen to be met with green hydrogen by the end of the decade.</p><p class="bylines">By Jonathan Gleave</p></article>
