Provident Biofuels was established in Singapore in 2011 and is a leading trader of Palm Kernel Shells ("PKS"). The PKS is sourced from both Indonesia and Malaysia, including shipments from both the East and West Coast of Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and East Malaysia. Provident Biofuels has traded over 5 million Metric tonnes of PKS to power producers in Singapore, Europe, Thailand, Japan, and South Korea. In preparation for the certification requirement by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry, Provident Biofuels has taken steps to be certified by Green Gold Label ("GGL") under their GGL01 standards to prove compliance with the mandatory sustainability requirements for PKS under the Feed-in-Tariff subsidy scheme. In addition, Provident Biofuels is working with its suppliers to be certified under GGL’s Point of Origin Scheme. To expand its biomass product offering, Provident Biofuels has invested in a wood pellet production facility in Indonesia which will have an initial annual production capacity of 150,000MT, increasing to 500,000MT in 2026.
