Kevin Martel is the General Manager for Wilhelmsen Ship Management based in Houston. Kevin is responsible for the Ship Management of the fleet based in Houston. Wilhelmsen is among the top ten ship managers in the world and exists as one of the many arms of Wilhelmsen. Wilhelmsen Ship Management specializes in LNG, LPG, Container, Bulk, Cruise, Ro/Ro, Oil and offshore sectors. Wilhelmsen heritage runs deep in the value chain to deliver quality and transparency to our customers, which is the hallmark of our success. Prior to Wilhelmsen, Kevin has worked as a Fleet Director for ship owners, primarily working in the US Flag fleet. Kevin has also held roles as a Port Engineer and Senior Surveyor for class. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Junya (JUN) Omoto is the President of NYK Energy Transport (USA) Inc. His responsibility is business development for energy related business including LNG, crude & product tanker, offshore and clean energy. He joined NYK group in 1993 and spent more than 30 years for container trade, corporate planning and energy transport business. Jun started his new assignment here in Houston since this April. Until then, he was senior general manager at NYK Tokyo Offshore Business Group and expanded business activity of upstream and midstream oil & gas value chain, e.g., 3D seismic research vessel, FPSO, shuttle tanker, etc. Among his carrier in LNG and offshore division, he had also proceeded business development of several gas to power projects in Asia and Africa.

Navid Ostadian-Binai
Head of Green Vessels and Fuels, Maersk Tankers

Navid is Head of Green Vessels and Fuels at Danish shipping firm Maersk Tankers, where he is concerned with the commercialisation and scale-up of green shipping. Navid has 17 years of technical and commercial experience across various industries and has helped initiate and grow business for corporate and start-up companies. He has an MSc in materials science and engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and is an advocate for the energy transition and equitable opportunities.

Lee Raymond

Global Head of Project Development, First Ammonia

Lee has over 20 years of project management experience. He has spent the last 10 years planning and managing project development of methanol and ammonia facilities, including identifying sites, defining project scope, risk assessment and mitigation plans, and co-ordinating with authorities for permitting requirements. From 2013-20, Raymond led project development for gas company Topsoe. Raymond holds a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences from Anglia Ruskin University.

Tobias Birwe

Head of Sales, Fertilizer and Methanol, Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions

Tobias has worked at Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions since 2003, and has been involved in large-scale EPC jobs in the fertilizer industry. He started his career as process engineer developing ammonia plants based on Thyssenkrupp’s uhde ammonia technology. After spending a year in Saudi Arabia on a commissioning job for the Ma’aden 1 ammonia complex, he joined Thyssenkrupp’s sales department, and since 2015 has headed its fertilizer and methanol unit. He has a diploma in industrial engineering from Germany’s Technical University Braunschweig.

Oleksiy Tatarenko

Oleksiy Tatarenko
Senior Principal, Climate-Aligned Industries, Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI)

Oleksiy Tatarenko is a Principal of the Climate-Aligned Industries Programme at US non-profit Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI). Oleksiy leads RMI’s Green Hydrogen Catapult, a joint initiative with the UN’s Climate Change High-Level Champions scheme. The programme promotes global adoption of green hydrogen at a scale needed to limit global warming to 1.5°C from pre-industrial averages — the most ambitious pathway under the Paris climate agreement. Oleksiy has 17 years of experience in roles focusing on systems-level transformation of the energy sector and pioneering business models. He previously led the energy transition programme at Shell, spearheading new initiatives in hydrogen and decarbonisation strategies, as well as providing thought leadership as part of Shell’s leadership team. Before that, Oleksiy founded and led a venture that piloted projects to reduce methane gas leakage in Ukraine. As an advisor to the Ukraine’s energy minister, he helped develop national policy on energy security to promote international investment in the sector.

Tim Cheyne

Tim is Senior Vice President for the fertilizer sector at Argus. Tim worked a process manager at an ammonia/urea plant in South Africa before moving to the UK to join KBR (then M.W. Kellogg) as a process engineer in the ammonia technology team. More recently Tim has covered fertilizer and industrial nitrogen as a market analyst.
