FAQs

The Argus WTI Quarterly is a regular webinar series in which Argus crude oil experts examine the current WTI price outlook, covering supply and demand fundamentals, OPEC+ decisions, US production trends and the geopolitical factors shaping market direction each quarter.

The session is designed for crude oil traders, risk managers, procurement leads, refinery planners and analysts who rely on WTI price data to make commercial decisions. It is relevant to anyone tracking the WTI-Brent spread, US crude exports or delivered crude costs.

US shale output levels, geopolitical risk premiums in the Middle East and the balance between Atlantic Basin supply and global demand. The WTI-Brent spread reflects US-specific dynamics including pipeline infrastructure and Cushing inventory levels.

Freight rates are a direct component of delivered crude costs. When tanker rates rise on key routes — such as USGC to Asia or Europe — the economics of US crude exports shift, which in turn affects domestic WTI price levels and the arbitrage between WTI and competing crude benchmarks.

Argus Crude provides daily price assessments for WTI and other major crude grades globally. Argus Tanker Freight covers freight rates on USGC export routes, enabling combined crude and freight analysis. Argus Crude Outlooks provides forward-looking supply and demand analysis. Argus Global Markets integrates crude, refined products, freight and commodity data across markets.
