Global energy and commodity price reporting agency Argus has launched three new spot price assessments reflecting traded biodiesel blends in Dutch ports following the implementation of Renewable Energy Directive (RED) III mandates in the Netherlands.

The new daily RED B30 Advanced Fame very low sulphur (VLSFO) blend, RED B30 Advanced Fame marine gasoil (MGO) blend and RED B100 Advanced Fame assessments will be underpinned by market-reported spot physical bids, offers, and trades for the respective blends. The blends will comprise biofuels produced from feedstocks under RED Annex IX Part A and considered advanced in the Netherlands, inclusive of definitions listed in Annex V of the Regeling energie Vervoer.

These blends are utilised by shipowners to meet the FuelEU Maritime regulation, while also minimising exposure to EU emissions trading system (ETS) costs. Marine fuel suppliers in the Netherlands are now subject to greenhouse gas-reduction mandates, which can be fulfilled by supplying these Advanced Fame blends.

Prices also are provided for the key bunkering regions of Singapore, Guangzhou, northwest Europe, the Mediterranean, south Brazil, New York and Houston.

These prices are published in the Argus Biofuels and Argus Marine Fuels reports.
