Hindustan Colas Private Limited is a 50:50 joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), India, and COLAS SA, France.

In his current role, Anil is responsible as Head R&D, Technical and Engineering aspects of business operations across 11 Bitumen Emulsion and Modified Bitumen plants and 2 Bitumen Import Storage Terminals in India. His leadership is centred on continuously striving for excellence, analyzing business and operational strategies, and developing effective, sustainable solutions for customers, operations, technical functions, engineering, and business growth.

Mr Dipak Kumar Basu, Vice President (Business Development), Tiki Tar & Shell India Pvt Ltd, India and Former Executive Director & State Head of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, the largest Refining & Marketing Oil & Gas PSU in India is having 38 years of rich experience in the Oil & Gas sector.

About educational qualification, Mr Basu has completed “Master of Technology” from IIT Kharagpur & “Trend in Public Policy Management” from University of Maryland, College Park, USA. He has also done various certification courses from prestigious institutions like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Kolkata, St Gallen University, Switzerland, ESCP, London and Harvard Business School etc. which has provided him with a solid foundation in business strategy, Marketing and operations management.

During his long journey, Mr Basu held multiple leadership role with a primary focus on the marketing of Petroleum Products, including Bitumen, LPG, CNG, and CBG, where he had successfully identified market potential, assessed requirements, and strategized for future expansion. In his earlier role as National Head of White Oil, CNG, CBG, and Special Product Marketing in IOCL, Mr Basu was responsible for the growth of high-speed diesel and other products across India. This involved regular coordination with refinery divisions, logistics, and pricing departments to ensure smooth operations and competitive pricing. He also played a pivotal role in determining the pricing of special products on a PAN India basis, which required a keen understanding of market dynamics and global competitiveness.

Moreover, his experience in dealing with government officials, industry leaders, and NGOs have equipped him with the skills to navigate complex regulatory environments and foster collaborations that enhance market positioning.

Through extensive experience, Mr Basu developed a strategic mindset that allows him to evaluate global trends in the oil and gas industry, ensuring that the products remain competitive on a global scale. Mr Basu also consistently focused on innovation, such as introducing green fuels and sustainable practices, which not only meet market demands but also contribute to environmental goals.
This holistic approach to marketing POL products has been instrumental in his career, and Mr Basu is still leveraging this expertise in advisory role in his present role in Tiki Tar & Shell India Pvt Ltd.
