Duna Uribe manages the new energies portfolio at the Port of Rotterdam, enabling hydrogen and its derivatives to be handled at the port. Duna leads the developments of import storage, hydrogen conversion, pipelines, bunkering and distribution. Previously Duna had a leading role in creating the partnership with Pecém Port Complex, a Joint Venture from the Port of Rotterdam situated in Brazil where she led the launch of Pecém’s green hydrogen hub. Duna is passionate about creating a prosperous path to net zero as well as gender equity.

Kristof Coppé

Director Fleet Operations & Technical Business Development , Exmar

Kristof has been Director Fleet Operations and Technical Business Development at Exmar since 2025. He started his career in the dredging industry as technical superintendent before joining Exmar, first as technical superintendent and later as project manager and head of technical shipping. He was responsible for several innovative building projects in gas shipping including eight midsize gas carriers built in the Philippines and the world’s first order of LPG fuelled very large gas carriers. Kristof leads the development of Exmar’s first ammonia fuelled 46,000m³ gas carriers. He holds a master’s degree in electromechanical engineering-maritime technology from the University of Ghent.

Alexander Fokker

General Manager, LBC Tank Terminals

Alexander Fokker is an executive with over 17 years of experience in the liquid bulk storage and energy transition sectors. He is the general manager of LBC Tank Terminals' recently acquired terminal in Vlissingen, where he is developing the facility to become a leading hub for green energy solutions in the region. He previously held senior leadership roles in large-scale terminals, where he oversaw P&L management, multi-disciplinary teams and strategic growth initiatives. He managed capital projects for sustainable feedstocks, helped develop and execute sustainability strategies, and led efforts to increase operational efficiency and customer satisfaction across multiple regions. His expertise includes terminal management, M&A, commercial development and sustainability, and he focuses on innovation, energy transition projects and team development.

Benedikt Messner

Senior Vice President, Uniper Global Commodities

In this role, Benedikt primarily focuses on building a portfolio of renewable power purchase agreements, global green hydrogen-related projects and offtake agreements. His interests extend into clean technology and energy transition ventures. Benedikt was General Manager at Enerjisa in Turkey until July 2016, which is a joint venture between Germany utility Eon and Turkish conglomerate Sabanci. Before joining Enerjisa in 2013, Benedikt was Origination Director at Eon Global Commodities in Düsseldorf. Before that, he held various managerial roles, including leading the power trading desks at Eon, Acton Energy and Enron Europe. Benedikt has a master’s degree from Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.

Thomas De Graef

Technical Manager, Alternative-Fuelled Newbuilds, CMB.Tech

Thomas De Graef leads the development of ammonia-fuelled vessels at CMB.Tech and has over 18yr of maritime expertise in alternative fuel innovation. He has successfully brought multiple NH₃-fuelled projects from concept to delivery, working with leading Asian shipyards, naval designers and equipment manufacturers to pioneer ammonia combustion technology at scale. His deep partnerships with top-tier yards across Asia have helped translate ammonia propulsion from theory into commercial marine operations.

Thomas has extensive experience connecting shipowners, naval architects, technology providers and regulatory bodies, and combines technical depth with industry knowledge. His expertise includes fuel system innovation and the mechanical and engineering developments driving the ammonia transition, such as engine architecture, fuel storage systems, combustion optimisation and safety protocols. He follows emerging technologies and industry developments to ensure CMB.Tech's ammonia fleet uses the latest mechanical and propulsion advancements. His problem-solving approach tackles complex regulatory and technical challenges for fuels not yet fully covered by existing maritime standards.

Thomas holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and has successfully delivered dozens of vessels at leading Asian shipyards for major cargo and offshore operators. He joined CMB.Tech in April 2021 and has helped make ammonia propulsion a commercial reality, working hands-on with the industry to develop and deploy practical solutions for vessel performance, safety and regulatory compliance.

Ammonia Europe is a newly established business association representing the interests of the European ammonia value chain. Stephen was previously Deputy CEO at Hydrogen Europe, as well as a Vice President and Senior Director in renowned global consultancies. The focus throughout his career has been on climate, energy, transport and trade policies, but he also has expertise in research and development, as well as industrial scale-up.

Andrea Guati Rojo is the Policy and Advocacy Manager at Ammonia Europe, an industry association representing the ammonia industry in Europe. Based in Brussels, Andrea leads the organisation’s EU policy strategy, positioning low-carbon ammonia as a strategic enabler of industrial decarbonisation, maritime transition, and energy security. With a background spanning engineering, policy, and communications, Andrea brings over ten years of experience in the ammonia sector across Europe and Latin America. She holds a Ph.D. from Cardiff University (UK), where her research examined public acceptance of ammonia, alongside an MSc in Sustainable Energy and Environment and a BA in Communication and Government Affairs.

Lisa Maria Assmann

Senior Shipbroker, Steem1960 Shipbrokers

Lisa Assmann is Senior Shipbroker at the projects department at Steem1960, where her focus is on long term ammonia projects in addition to other specialised shipping (liquid gases, chemicals and clean petroleum products). Prior to that Lisa has been heading the gas analytics team at Steem1960 for 6 years as a leading expert in LPG, Ammonia and Petrochemical shipping, working closely together with the market’s forefront ammonia shipbroking desk. As part of her previous career Lisa worked in consulting and banking in addition to being a researcher at Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen and the Energy Institute at UCL in London investigating aspects of green shipping and prediction methodology for freight. Lisa holds a Ph.D. in Business Economics and a Master of Science in Energy Economics from Norwegian School of Economics, as well as a B.A. in from Zeppelin university, Friedrichshafen, Germany.

Johannes Eng

Johannes is currently head of new energies at the Port of Duisburg (duisport), the world's largest inland port. The port is located in the centre of Europe's industrial heartland of North Rhine-Westphalia and its Rhine-Ruhr region. His work focuses on the port's energy transition, including new energies, hydrogen and its derivatives, port transformation and the supply chain. He previously worked as a senior manager of business solutions and supply chain analyst for duisport industrial solutions (dis), where he oversaw global supply chain logistics and contract management. He also worked as operations manager for EMEA at solar module manufacturer Canadian Solar and as head of logistics for Norwegian renewable energy developer Scatec Solar. Johannes has a degree from EUFH European University of Applied Sciences Brühl, Germany and Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, Canada.

Bernd Haveresch

Director of Business Development, Ammobia

Bernd Haveresch is the director of business development at Ammobia, a US-based deep-tech company developing low-cost, low-carbon ammonia production technology. He leads international market entry, focusing on European partnership development and early commercial project opportunities for Ammobia’s modular, energy-agnostic ammonia synthesis technology.

Bernd has more than 29yr of experience in engineering, project management, strategy, business and project development, and process technology licensing with global tier 1 companies including Siemens, MAN Energy Solutions, KBR, Topsoe and Nippon Sanso. Bernd brings a grounded, demand-side perspective to Ammobia on moving low-carbon ammonia from promise to project, from his experience working with industrial operators, project developers and technology providers on the constraints of cost, scale and the supply chain. He has deep expertise in rotating equipment, technical gases, clean hydrogen and ammonia, and energy transition industries, gained both as a line manager and as a self-employed adviser.

He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts [Dipl.-Ing. (FH)] and is a certified Senior Project Manager and Six Sigma Green Belt. He has served as a board member of the Ammonia Energy Association since June 2024 and is based in Germany.

Mike Rendall

Dr Mike Rendall is chair of the UK Ammonia Alliance (UKAA), an industry group of pioneering businesses that seeks to maximise the strategic role of ammonia for a more secure and sustainable future. The UKAA focuses on creating a supportive environment in the UK for a range of industries to adopt low-carbon ammonia at scale. Mike has over 25yr of experience as a leader in ammonia and hydrogen conversion, fuel cells and energy storage technologies. In addition to chairing the UKAA, Mike is the chief technology officer of H-Power, where he leads product development, technology strategy and the commercial rollout of the company's ammonia cracker and fuel cell systems. Mike previously held key strategic technical roles at Dyson, Diverse Energy and multiple leading battery and fuel cell firms. He is recognised for driving product innovation and commercialisation across clean energy technologies.

Oliver Hatfield is the VP of Fertilizers for Argus Media in London. Oliver joined Argus in October 2018 following its acquisition of Integer Research, where he was head of the fertilizer market research team and one of the company’s founders. He has more than 20 years of experience in business analysis and consulting.

Oliver is currently leading business development across Argus’ global nitrogen, phosphates and potash businesses, and driving the development of the company’s business in clean ammonia and specialty fertilizers. He is a regular speaker at industry events and is a graduate of economics and development economics from the University of Manchester in the UK.
